Nitrile butadiene rubber, which is commonly used in large quantities, is no longer sufficient.

Hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber can not be distinguished from other kinds of nitrile butadiene rubber in its basic properties, but it can be used in the harsh environment of oil field. In addition to petroleum, rubber products used in oil fields may come into contact with acidic gases such as hydrogen sulfide, as well as amine-containing compounds. Hydrogenated nitrile (HNBR) is well suited to the low temperatures of tens of degrees below zero due to the location of the field, as well as the adverse environments of high temperature and high pressure with the increase of drilling depth.

Heat resistance of hydrogenated nitrile:

Hydrogenated nitrile has good temperature resistance. It will take at least 12 days for the elongation to reach half of the original value in hot air at 150 ° C. At high temperature, the wear resistance of hydrogenated nitrile rubber is almost unchanged.

Medium resistance of hydrogenated nitrile:

If the cut-off is acid gas/water/diesel, the acid gas consists of 20% hydrogen cyanide, 65% methane, and 15% carbon dioxide. The test temperature was 150 ℃ and the maximum pressure was 10Mpa. After 7 days of corrosion, hydrogenated nitrile showed better corrosion resistance than NBR and FKM.

In addition, the acid and alkali resistance of hydrogenated nitrile has good stability in the harsh sodium at 100 ° C or diluted hydrochloric acid at 50 ° C.

High pressure resistance of hydrogenated nitrile:

NBR has a very good pressure resistance performance, but when the outside diameter is violently depressurized, the internal low molecular hydrocarbons and gases show a strong tendency to escape, and to a certain degree of depressurization, even cause wave damage in the products. Hydrogenated nitrile, on the other hand, showed a strong tolerance.

Application of hydrogenated nitrile in oil field industry:

O-ring and other oil-resistant sealing rubber products: in the exploration and production process, the use of a large number of O-ring and other sealing ring sealing ring, they are not only in high temperature and high pressure oil contact, but also withstand the original contained in a variety of acid and alkaline substances and oil required chemicals (such as paraffin agent) corrosion. In the past, most of the products used nitrile butadiene rubber as sealing material.

Extraction piston: In the past extraction technology, the carboxyl nitrile rubber is often used as the raw material for the extraction piston,

but the wear resistance and stability are not perfect. The service life of hydrogenated nitrile rubber is extended obviously.

Submarine conveying pipe: in the offshore oil production, in order to connect the oil well with the platform,it is necessary to use the tube bundle with certain flexibility, but this kind of flexible pipe must be resistant to various conditions such as high pressure and violent pressure drop and corrosion. At present, hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber is used as the first inner layer of the flexible pipe.

Explosion-proof tube: good elongation and constant elongation of hydrogenated nitrile are suitable for explosion-proof rubber products. The reliability and durability of hydrogenated nitrile as explosion-proof material have been greatly improved, which is of great significance to the safe production of oil field.
